Welcome to The Hungry Pelican on Beautiful Roanoke Island. This busy deli satisfies Manteo's visitors and locals year round with piled-high deli sandwiches on fresh-baked bread, fresh salads and homemade soups. Build your own sandwich, choosing from all the traditional meats including ham, turkey, roast beef and many more. Or choose from homemade egg, tuna, or chicken salad. Hungry Pelican sandwiches are made to order on your choice of fresh-baked bread.
If it's salad you want, you'll have a hard time deciding between the Chef, Spinach or Taco. Soups and a wide variety of delicious side dishes are available as well. You won't be able to resist the Hungry Pelican homemade desserts or candy, and they also bake specialty cakes with more than 80 designs to choose from. Everything is made from scratch and is delicious.
The deli is perched like a "Hungry Pelican" above the Manteo Waterfront, and indoor seating offers excellent views of Shallowbag Bay and the Queen Elizabeth II. Outdoor seating is available on the courtyard patio.
If you have a birthday party planned and would like one of our delicious specialty cakes then be sure to look in our photo gallery and give us a call. We need 72 hours advance notice on most cakes and if you don't see what you are looking for please ask.
