Across the Nags Head Causeway is the largest Outer Banks public boat ramp, and on Roanoke Island there are three more marinas (Pirates Cove Marina, Broad Creek Marina & Thicket Lump Marina) for charter boats.
Additionally, Nags Head North Carolina is the home of Jockey's Ridge State Park, the home of the East Coast's tallest sand dune at around 100 feet tall. Jockeys Ridge is the perfect place to roll down a hill with wild abandon, fly a kite, hang glide, watch the sunset, explore nature trails or take a sound side dip. Just south on Highway 12 is the Bodie Island Lighthouse. Nags Head Woods, a preserved maritime forest at the north end of Nags Head, is a true respite when you've gotten too much sun.
