The Town of Kill Devil Hills Ocean Rescue Division is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for all citizens, property owners and visitors by providing the maximum level of service in the most effective manner and to provide a professional and highly trained Lifesaving operation. We strive to provide an excellent response to all water related emergencies as well as information and assistance to all residents and visitors of Kill Devil Hills who are in need. Our goal is to create a safe and friendly atmosphere in and around all water resources in the Town. The Town of Kill Devil Hills also has lifeguard personnel covering all of the oceanfront areas with 4 ATV's & a FWD Truck (equipped with a Personal Watercraft), these units are on roving patrol. KDH Ocean Rescue is responsible for the training and staffing of 17 stands & 4 ATV’s daily through the summer season and expects to retain a staff of at least 40. Applicants that are offered a position will complete our in-house First Responder & USLA Open Water Training that will begin in mid-May. All Applicants must swim 500 meters in 10 minutes or less, possess a valid Drivers License and be a minimum of 16 yrs of age. Applications are available at www.kdhnc.com/employme.htm.
