Full Moon Cafe an Outer Banks Restaurant in Manteo
Full Moon Cafe' & Restaurant Summary
The Full Moon Cafe in Manteo has been a favorite Outer Banks dining destination for both locals and visitors alike, since opening in the fall of 1995. Not stuffy, just great OBX dining in an affordable, upbeat restaurant. The Full Moon Cafe is located by the clock tower on the corner of Sir Walter Raleigh and Queen Elizabeth Streets in the village of Manteo on historic Roanoke Island. The Full Moon Café accepts Outer Banks dinner reservations and is open daily from 11:30am to 9pm in-season. Give them a call in the off-season to confirm.
Sharon Enoch and Paul Charron opened The Full Moon Cafe in the fall of 1995. The restaurant was an instant success with both locals and tourists. The menu, an amalgam of cuisines from around the world, is arguably the most unusual on The Outer Banks. On any given day, Full Moon customers dine on Hungarian Mushroom Soup, Baked Brie with Almonds and Apples, Baked Rockfish Fresh from the Roanoke Sound, Cuban Black Beans and Rice and much, much more. The food is diverse, intriguing, delicious, incredibly fresh and never, ever boring.

Sharon is a native of Baltimore, and as one of the oldest of nine children, she's no stranger to making food in large quantities. "I credit my Mom for my culinary adventures. She had a horde of mouths to feed but every Sunday we would set the table with fine China and Silver and dine. She would set an ambitious menu that introduced the children to cuisines from around the world: veal marsala, chicken picatta, eggplant parmesan (not a hit), beef stroganoff, etc. It was wonderful and it gave me a lifelong fascination with the incredibly diverse world of food."
Paul hails from Manhattan (that little burg up north), where meat and potatoes were culinary kings of his Irish household. The couple met at college, married a few years later, and to the Outer Banks in the late 80's. Meant as only a temporary stop on the career trail, they fell in love with the Outer Banks and are intent on staying put. They live on Roanoke Island (a most amazing place), have three wonderful children, and have never regretted their move south.
Whether Roanoke Island is your destination or you’re just on a daytrip from the nearby beaches, the island has something to offer everyone, young and old alike. And when you get hungry, The Full Moon Café in Manteo will be there to serve satisfying lunches and deliciously eclectic Outer Banks dinners.
